Meet Torrey Snow

Torrey has been passionate about technology since a young age. Starting at just 12, he began coding in BASIC on a VTech computer, a precursor to a lifelong fascination with computers. As the digital age unfolded, Torrey embraced the role of a “stereotypical nerd,” immersing himself in the world of technology.

During high school, he joined the video production club, where he honed his skills in various digital tools and techniques. This early exposure to media production further fueled his interest in technology.

Torrey’s academic journey continued at Boise State University, where he studied computer science. He furthered his education at Pensacola Christian College, deepening his understanding of computer systems.

After college, Torrey began his career working as an educator, teaching high school computers among other responsibilities, sharing his knowledge with young students and inspiring the next generation of tech enthusiasts. He taught them essential skills like website development and Microsoft Office software proficiency.

Transitioning to the corporate world, Torrey started with basic computer analytics. Leveraging his technical abilities, he quickly advanced to automating processes and developing advanced reporting functions. His expertise led him to a role in advanced systems maintenance and administration, where he specialized in the Hyperion suite of reporting tools.

Even outside of his professional life, Torrey’s passion for technology remained strong. He continued to learn and experiment, teaching himself web design, launching his own podcast, and providing data analytics support to friends in their own grassroots efforts.

Today, Torrey brings his diverse skill set and deep understanding of technology to his role as a community leader. He is committed to using his knowledge to empower others and drive positive change.

Beyond his technical prowess, Torrey is deeply committed to community service. He has served on numerous boards and organizations, advocating for underprivileged communities and promoting civic engagement. His political involvement includes running for the Anne Arundel County Council in 2018, and serving on various boards like the Odenton Town Center Advisory Board, The Maryland Commission for African American History and Culture, and the Anne Arundel County Charter Revision committee.

Currently, Torrey hosts the popular “Torrey Snow Program” on WBAL NewsRadio. He also serves as the Director of Communications for the Douglass Leadership Institute. He continues to use his platform to address important issues, inspire others, and make a positive impact on his community.
